I qualified as a solicitor in 2002 and I have been a Partner at New Quadrant since 2011. I provide legal advice in all areas of private client work, including tax, trusts, succession planning and probate.
I have particular expertise and have worked to build the firm's reputation in advising on personal injury trusts where an individual has suffered a catastrophic spinal cord injury predominately through an accident or clinical negligence. A number of my clients have also suffered a head injury and I am therefore heavily involved with Court of Protection work which requires a different approach to providing advice whether that be as a Deputy or looking at making statutory Wills/Gifts. I work in tandem with the firm's non-legal trust administration team, managing the decisions that need to be made on behalf of the clients, not only including financial payments, but also the appointment of case managers to set up a care package for the client and project managers when properties need to be adapted.
In addition, I prepare witness statements and act as an expert in some of the highest value personal injury and clinical claims passing through the Courts and work extensively with some of the leading personal injury firms and counsel in this field. I have presented on the administration of personal injury trusts and deputyships to leading claimant personal injury firms and barrister chambers.
My specialism in representing individuals lacking capacity was strengthened by a secondment to the Office of the Official Solicitor.
I am a member of STEP and Solicitors for the Elderly and I was named in Private Client Practitioner's Top 35 under 35 in both 2011 and 2012.
