New Quadrant Offers Clients a Donor-Advised Fund
New Quadrant has extended its charitable foundation to offer clients a donor-advised fund, a cost-effective alternative to establishing a private charitable foundation.
New Quadrant Partners has extended its charitable foundation to offer clients a donor-advised fund option. The firm established its own foundation in 2010 to support internal charitable giving and is now making this vehicle available to clients and friends of the firm.
The primary motivation is practical: the cost and administrative burden of creating and registering a private charitable foundation have increased substantially in recent years. A donor-advised fund offers many of the same benefits — including immediate tax relief on contributions and structured grant-making — without the overhead of a standalone charity.
Our approach emphasises philanthropic efficiency. Rather than accumulating assets, our objective is to ensure money passes to charitable recipients and is put to use as soon as possible. We typically distribute transferred capital sums within three years and work with donors to understand their giving objectives before establishing individual funds.
