New Quadrant's annual charity quiz raised over £8,000 for the Amy Winehouse Foundation's "Amy's Place" project — a recovery house for young women aged 18–30 overcoming drug and alcohol addiction. Research shows that women have a far greater chance of relapse without this kind of supported environment, making the project one of very few of its kind in the country.

Mitch Winehouse, Amy's father, attended the event to speak about the project. Partner Kiran Vasudeva, who helped organise the evening, said: "This is a very special charity and it is our hope that the significant sum raised will go some way to fund the holistic programme for the centre."
